Poseidon's Shell Throne

Mhe Titanomachy (Τιτανομαχία) : A Great War Broke out between the Elder gods and the young Olympians. The Cyclopes (Arges, Steropes and Brontes, metalsmiths three), armed the Olympians with both magnificent and savage weapons. The legendary Thunderbolts unto Zeus, for Hades the Cap of Invisibility and a Trident to Poseidon which could provoke storms, set fire to rocky shorelines, control the waters of the deep and shake the very earth. A decade long battle ensued, until Zeus unleased hell in the form of the Hecatoncheires ( Briareus the Vigorous, Cottus the Furious, and Gyges the Big-Limbed, enormous both in size and might each with fifty heads and a hundred arms, and from most accounts not a brain between them ). With their aid, Zeus and his brothers were triumphant and so imprisoned the male Titans. Zeus set the Hecatoncheires as watchmen over them. After the conflict Hades and his two brothers decided to divide the universe between them. Zeus receive the sky or Olympus, Poseidon usurped Oceanus' Principality of water while Hades took the Underworld. The Earth itself was shared by all. Greeks of the Classical age reference several poems depicting the armed comflict between the Olympian gods and many of the Titans. The only verse form retained to this day and age age is the Theogony, attributed to Hesiod. There is a lost epic, Titanomachia, who's authorship is placed at the long departed feet of the sightless Thracian bard Thamyris, our only reference available is in a passing notation within a Pseudo-Plutarchian essay titled On Music.
